A swimmer off the northern coast of Sinop, Turkey, has pulled a suspicious object from the sea that initially appeared to be part of a missile or projectile.
The object was spotted in the water by a swimmer, who then pulled it ashore, media reports.
His appearance attracted the attention of citizens in the area and raised doubts about his origin.
After initial verifications, it was determined that it was the remains of a Russian missile. However, further details are expected to emerge after a technical examination of the object.
Authorities will determine through expertise what type of ammunition the object belongs to and how it ended up in the waters off the Turkish coast.
