Netanyahu challenges US-Iran deal: Our offensive in Lebanon will not stop

Following the signing of the ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran, Israel has again promised that it will not withdraw from Lebanon.
The governments of Israel and Lebanon are preparing for a new round of talks in Washington next week, CNN writes.
"We will restore security to the north," said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his first public statement after presenting the text of the US-Iran deal.
"This requires preserving the security zone in southern Lebanon and requires that we not leave it for as long as Israel's security requirements require it," he added, CNN reports.
The first point of the US-Iran deal calls for “an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.” However, Israel has continued to carry out attacks in southern Lebanon, where it says it is striking the Iranian-backed militant group Hezbollah.
An Israeli drone strike killed three people in the town of Kfar Tebni on Thursday morning, according to Lebanon's National News Agency. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health says Israeli strikes have killed more than 3,900 people since the start of the war with Iran.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah has continued to launch rockets and drones against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, killing an Israeli soldier on Wednesday.
Israel and Lebanon are expected to hold their next round of diplomatic talks in Washington next week. The talks, scheduled for June 23-25, will include ambassadors from both countries as well as military-level discussions, according to an Israeli official. /Telegraph/
