The Ukrainian military carried out drone attacks on several Russian regions last night.
According to reports from local residents, published by Russian channels on Telegram, targets in several cities were hit, including an oil refinery and logistics center, writes Kyiv Independent.
Following reports of a drone attack, a large fire broke out at the NS-Oil refinery in the settlement of Novospasskoye, in the Russian Ulyanovsk region.
It is a relatively small refinery, about 650 kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border, which produces mainly petroleum derivatives and has an annual processing capacity of about 600 thousand tons of crude oil. The exact extent of the damage is not yet known.
Kiev considers oil industry facilities to be legitimate military targets, arguing that they supply fuel and provide funding for Russian military operations.
Ukrainian attacks on oil infrastructure have increased pressure on the Kremlin and deepened Russia's fuel supply crisis.
The situation has led to a ban on exports, price increases and restrictions on fuel sales in various parts of the country, while residents from various regions continue to report waiting for hours at gas stations. /Telegraph/
