US President Donald Trump held a direct call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the attacks in Lebanon, during which he asked him to stop any further military action in the country.

According to reported statements, Trump addressed Netanyahu in harsh tones, telling him, "What the hell are you doing?", expressing strong dissatisfaction with recent developments in the region.

He is said to have warned the Israeli prime minister that continued attacks on Lebanon could jeopardize an important diplomatic agreement.

The American leader has also stated that he will ask Iran not to respond with missile attacks following Israeli actions in Lebanon, in an effort to avoid further escalation of tensions.

"Netanyahu has absolutely no good judgment — I conveyed this message to him and told him I was very unhappy with the attack in Beirut," Trump is reported to have said.

At the same time, he has expressed optimism that a deal with Iran could be finalized within the next two to three hours, signaling rapid diplomatic developments in the region.

Otherwise, Iran has demanded that Israel stop its actions in Lebanon to pave the way for reaching an agreement with the US. /Telegraph/
