Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has congratulated his Italian counterpart, Giorgia Meloni, on achieving a historic record in Italian politics, becoming the longest-serving prime minister in the history of the Italian Republic.
In his message, Rama did not spare jokes and irony, referring to Italian politics, the frequent changes in government and the role of women in power. He congratulated Meloni on the record, while humorously telling her that now she only has one record left to break - his own.
Meloni responded to Rama with a message in the same vein, thanking him for the congratulations and appreciating the way he combines irony with what she describes as "some not-so-comfortable truths."
"Edi, my friend, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this video message. As always, you manage to combine irony with some uncomfortable truths!", writes Meloni.
The Italian Prime Minister also referred to the frequent changes of governments and prime ministers in Italy, telling Rama that after many changes of interlocutors in Rome, he finally had the opportunity to create more affection for "the current one."
"Frequent bench changes never help to build something solid. But in the end, when you find the right team, it's easier to play well and get results," Meloni continues, using a metaphor from football.
She emphasized that over the past few years, a sincere relationship and concrete cooperation have been built between the two countries, which, according to her, has strengthened the ties between Albania and Italy.
"Albania is a valued friend and partner, and I am proud of the journey we are taking together, even within Europe," said Meloni.
At the end of the message, the Italian Prime Minister conveyed a heartfelt greeting to Rama, leaving open a close meeting between them: "A warm hug and see you soon!". /Telegraph/
