Iran also confirms agreement with the US: Ceasefire and end of military operations
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, has stated that an agreement has been reached that provides for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, with the cessation of all military operations starting tonight, including the conflict in Lebanon.
According to Gharibabadi, the agreement was drafted in conditions of lack of trust between the parties, emphasizing that "this memorandum of understanding does not imply trust in the enemy."
He added that Tehran will closely monitor the implementation of commitments by the United States, warning that any violation will be carefully assessed.
The Iranian official also said that some of the changes requested by the Iranian side in the agreement were made possible by developments in Lebanon and statements by the armed forces, which, according to him, have influenced the advancement of negotiations.
"The armed forces were ready to give a decisive response," he said, adding that the public stances of US President Donald Trump and Hezbollah's reactions also played a role in the dynamics of developments.
Gharibabadi emphasized that military pressure and mutual threats helped finalize the text of the agreement and resolve remaining issues.
He concluded by declaring that "the end of the US naval blockade of Iran begins tonight."
Otherwise, Trump and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have confirmed the achievement of an agreement, which is expected to be signed on June 19 (Friday). /Telegraph/
