Russia has started importing gasoline from India in an effort to cope with fuel shortages in some parts of the country following Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil refineries.

According to reports, at least 60,000 metric tons of gasoline have already been transported to Russia, Reuters writes.

Moscow is considering the possibility of importing up to 400,000 tons per month from various countries, including Belarus.

Attacks on oil processing facilities have impacted domestic production capacities, causing market shortages and pressure on fuel supplies.

The situation has led to restrictive measures in some areas, long lines at gas stations and significant increases in gasoline prices.

The new imports highlight the difficulties facing Russia's energy sector as the war in Ukraine continues to affect critical infrastructure far from the front lines. /Telegraph/
