US intelligence agencies are investigating whether Russia helped Tehran carry out attacks on CIA facilities, four US sources told Reuters .
At least two CIA facilities in the Middle East were hit by Iranian drone attacks in March.
According to the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, US officials have not yet reached final conclusions regarding Russia's possible involvement.
However, the effectiveness and accuracy of the attacks could be an indication that Iran has received targeting data or advanced drone technology from Russia.
According to reports, a CIA station located at the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as well as another facility in eastern Iraq, were hit during these attacks.
Some of the sources told Reuters that other CIA facilities were also hit, but did not provide further details.
Testifying yesterday before a US Senate committee in Washington, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth hinted that Russia is assisting Iran's military operations.
Asked whether Russia and China are helping Iran, Hegseth replied: "There are ways in which both of these countries, at different levels, are enabling what Iran is doing, yes." /Telegraph
