US President Donald Trump has stated that China and Russia are not supplying weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran, saying that this has been personally confirmed to him by the leaders of both countries.
Trump said that during their recent meeting in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping promised him that China, including Chinese companies, would not give or sell weapons to Iran "under any circumstances."
"Considering our relationship, I take his word for it," Trump said, adding that the US is doing China "big favors."
He also stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin has told him that Moscow will not sell weapons to Tehran, despite international tensions and the war in Ukraine.
Trump stressed that Russia understands that the US is not directly supplying Ukraine with weapons, but is selling weapons to NATO countries, which then decide on their use and distribution.
According to Trump, the two major powers often mentioned in relation to Iran - China and Russia - are not involved in Tehran's military supply. He warned that such involvement would be "very bad for them" and would not be in their interest.
Otherwise, Iran has announced that it is consulting on a daily basis with China and Russia about the war with the US and Israel. /Telegraph/
