Iran warns Israeli attacks on Beirut endanger talks with US

One of Iran's top negotiators has warned that the latest Israeli attack on the Beirut suburbs could damage diplomatic efforts to reach a deal with the United States to end the war.
The Speaker of Iran's Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, harshly criticized Israel and the US after the attack, stating that Washington either lacks the will or the ability to fulfill its commitments.
In a reaction published on the X platform, Ghalibaf said that the attack in the Dahiyeh area of Beirut proves that the US is failing to guarantee its commitments, while accusing Washington and Tel Aviv of using the tactic known as "good cop, bad cop."
"By giving the green light to the Zionist regime, you cannot expect concessions. The game of good cop, bad cop is outdated," he declared.
His comments come at a time when diplomatic efforts are underway to end the conflict, while Iran insists that Lebanon must also be included in any agreement due to Israeli attacks against the militant group Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, the deputy commander of Iran's joint military command warned that Israel's "crimes" will not go unanswered.
According to US media reports, Israel had notified the US military in the region shortly before carrying out the attack on the outskirts of Beirut. The situation has raised concerns that tensions in Lebanon could further complicate negotiations for a ceasefire and an end to the war in the region. /Telegraph/
