The EU in Kosovo has called on all political entities and their representatives in electoral bodies, on the eve of the early elections, to ensure a peaceful, free, fair and inclusive voting process.

In its response, the EU emphasized the importance of the functioning and establishment of Kosovo's institutions, as well as the continuation of the integration path towards the European Union.

"The vote must be peaceful, free, fair and inclusive," the EU call states, underlining that Kosovo's institutional consolidation and European integration are essential.

Otherwise, the Kosovo Police and the Office of the Chief State Prosecutor, through a joint press release, emphasized their commitment to protecting the constitutional order, legality and integrity of the electoral process in the Republic of Kosovo.

The announcement states that in recent weeks, law enforcement institutions have received and processed numerous pieces of information related to suspicions of external interference and illegal activities aimed at influencing the free will of citizens during the electoral process.

"Foreign interference in elections poses a serious threat to democracy, independence and the free will of citizens. As a result of investigative and operational actions, on May 19, 2026, seven people were arrested on suspicion of criminal offenses related to the violation of the free determination of voters and the exercise of political pressure in the municipality of Gracanica.

"Also, on June 4, 2026, in the same municipality, another person was arrested on suspicion of receiving and giving bribes in connection with voting," the announcement states.
