The State Prosecutor has detained 12 people on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of "Organizing pyramid schemes and illegal gambling".

The news was confirmed to the Telegraph by the spokesperson for the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, Shkodran Nikçi, who announced that the suspects are from the municipality of Junik.


"The state prosecutor has detained 12 people on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of 'Organizing pyramid schemes and illegal gambling'. Cash and other material evidence have also been seized which will serve in this criminal process," said Nikçi.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, investigative actions are continuing, while further legal procedures are expected to be taken against the detainees.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police, through a media release, announced that the incident occurred at around 01:40, where the police obtained information that in a bar in Junik, several people were conducting illegal gambling activities.

"The police immediately responded to the case, where at the scene, during the search, cash in the amount of 1040 euros, gambling cards and other evidence were found and seized. The 12 suspects were arrested and after being interviewed by order of the State Prosecutor's Office, they were sent to detention for 48 hours," the police announced. /Telegrafi/
