The Basic Prosecution Office in Peja has announced that seven polling station chairmen in the municipality of Klina have been detained for 48 hours, as part of investigations related to the vote counting process.

According to the joint statement of the Prosecution and Kosovo Police, following authorizations given to the Kosovo Police Regional Investigations, polling station commissioners and chairmen were interviewed as suspects.


After the interviews were completed, by order of the State Prosecutor from the Serious Crimes Department, a decision was made to detain seven polling station chairmen for 48 hours.

The prosecution has announced that it will submit a request to the competent court within the legal deadline to ensure the presence of the defendants in the criminal proceedings.

The statement emphasizes that the Basic Prosecution Office in Peja, in coordination with the Kosovo Police, remains committed to preserving the integrity of citizens' free vote and prosecuting all persons suspected of criminal liability, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code and the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo./Telegrafi/
