Comedian Kathy Griffin has revealed new details about her late brother Kenneth, saying she wanted to kill him after learning he was a pedophile.

In a new YouTube video, she explained how she coped with the traumatic discovery that marked her childhood.

Griffin, known for her stage performances and roles on shows like "Seinfeld," spent years hiding her family's dark side. She said she was just 10 years old when she learned her older brother was a child molester.

"It was a very difficult thing, which obviously caused a lot of rift in my family," she previously said on the podcast "The Skinny Confidential."

The comedian also expressed her sympathy for her parents and explained where her greatest empathy lies.

"I have a lot of empathy for my mom and dad because I know my dad didn't abuse his brother, he was abused by a coach and a priest. However, I have more empathy for his victims," she said.

In a new video, Griffin shared shocking details and revealed that her brother, in addition to being abusive, also led a destructive life.

"My older brother, Kenneth, who is now deceased, was addicted to cocaine, lived on the streets, was very violent. He most likely had an undiagnosed mental illness that obviously didn't go well with hard cocaine," she said.

After learning from Kenneth's ex-wife and girlfriend that he was physically abusive, and from another partner that he had abused a boy and a girl she didn't know about, Griffin decided to take action. She says she called the police about once a week, but nothing came of her reports. She claims officers told her there was nothing they could do until the victims came forward. After that, frustration and pain led to dark thoughts.

"I wanted to kill him because the only thing I could think about was those children. Having a pedophile older brother is something you never forget. You can't get over it," she said.

Because of all this, Griffin points out that she refused to see her brother, which led to the family celebrating the holidays separately.

"I'm not going to sit in a room with Kenneth once a year and act like he's not a pedophile who beats women," she explained.
