Belgrade lawyer says he was arrested "because there is evidence of Vučić's participation in 'Sarajevo Safari'"

Belgrade lawyer Cedomir Stojkovic, who is active on social media, was arrested in Belgrade on Monday and, when he was released to defend himself from arrest, he posted on his Facebook profile "to explain the whole situation."
Stojkovic posted on Facebook because, as he claims, he was banned from posting on the X social network and the YouTube platform.
In addition, his mobile phone was confiscated, as he said, writes klix.ba, the Telegraph reports.
"Officially, I was arrested for two reasons. First, because in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, I wrote about EuroMaidan in Ukraine on the X platform that it was a democratic expression of the will of the people for the European Union. The regime in Serbia considers it a criminal offense to mention EuroMaidan in Serbia. Second, because I mentioned Aleksandar Vučić and Slavko Aleksić on the X network," says Stojković.
However, as he claims, the real reasons for the arrest are different.
"I was arrested because of my criminal complaint against Aleksandar Vučić regarding his connection to the 'Sarajevo Sniper Safari'...", he further wrote.
As he stated, Stojkovic heard that the real reason for the arrest was the posts about Vučić's connection to the 'Sarajevo Safari', namely, because his posts on that topic attracted the attention of foreign media.
Finally, in a humorous tone, he said that his issue should reach Elon Musk, the owner of X, and that it is about "obvious censorship that he often deals with."
Recall that the term "Sarajevo Safari" refers to allegations that during the siege of Sarajevo (1992–1996) several so-called "sniper tourists", mostly foreigners and allegedly paid, took up sniper positions in areas controlled by the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) and shot at civilians.
The story became widely known after the release of the documentary Sarajevo Safari (2022) by director Miran Zupanić, which presents evidence suggesting that the logistics of the Republika Srpska army were behind this alleged phenomenon.
Following the release of the film and the resurfacing of evidence, in November 2025, the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office in Italy opened an investigation to discover whether some Italian citizens may have participated in this alleged form of "sniper tourism" and in killings committed during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. /Telegraph/
