Stefon Diggs, the New England Patriots star and partner of rapper Cardi B, with whom he recently welcomed a child, is facing serious charges of assault against his personal chef. He has reportedly been charged with attempted murder and assault, in connection with an incident that reportedly took place on December 2.

According to a police report that is said to have been provided New York Post, the chef alleged that the 32-year-old player punched and choked her until she lost consciousness at their Dedham home, which is valued at about $2.5 million. She claims Diggs shot her in the face after an argument over her pay.

One of the messages Diggs allegedly sent her said: "I'm not going to pay you. I don't have to. I don't care. Are you crazy?"

The police report further states: "The man then attempted to strangle her by using his elbow around her neck. She said he was behind her back, with his hand wrapped around her neck."

According to her statements, she felt difficulty breathing and thought she might pass out. As she tried to leave, he – according to her – squeezed her even tighter. At that moment, he allegedly threw her on the bed, saying something like: “I knew it.” When she reminded him that she had not yet been paid, he replied “lie” and left the room.

On the other hand, Diggs' lawyer, David Meier, stated that the footballer "categorically denies these allegations."

“They are untrue, unfounded, and have never been investigated — because they never happened,” Meier said. “The timing and motive for these allegations are crystal clear: they stem from a financial dispute between the employer and the employee that was not resolved to her satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to the truth being revealed in court,” he added. /Telegraph/
