US reveals six points of Israel-Lebanon ceasefire

US President Donald Trump has said that Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire.
According to Trump, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reached the agreement after speaking with the American president, reports the Telegraph.
The ceasefire will come into effect at 23:00 Kosovo time.
According to Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio will now work with both countries "to achieve a SUSTAINABLE PEACE," Trump announced.
Meanwhile, the US has announced six points of the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire.
According to foreign media, Telegrafi reports, six points shared by the US State Department highlight its understanding of the agreement:
- Fighting will cease at 17:00 PM EST (23:00 PM Kosovo time) for 10 days as a "goodwill gesture" by Israel;
- This period could be extended by mutual agreement if progress is made in negotiations and if Lebanon "effectively demonstrates its ability to assert its sovereignty" - an apparent reference to confronting Hezbollah;
- Israel has the right to "take all necessary measures for self-defense at all times," but "other than that," it will not carry out attacks;
- During the ceasefire, with international support, Lebanon will take "meaningful steps" to stop Hezbollah and "other non-state armed groups" from carrying out attacks on Israel;
- All parties recognize the Lebanese security forces as exclusively responsible for Lebanon's sovereignty and national defense - not any other group;
- Israel and Lebanon are demanding that the US facilitate further direct negotiations between the two countries.
As noted at the end, the text was approved by the governments of both parties, the department said. /Telegrafi/
