Amazon Studio commented on why the decision on the new Bond has been awaited for so long: It will come when the time is right

Amazon MGM Studios executives gave minimal updates on the next James Bond film at CinemaCon, stating that the film will be released when the time is right.
The studio, which recently took creative control of the spy series, has hired Denis Villeneuve to direct the next installment. Given Villeneuve's success with the "Dune" films, the move was widely praised, as was the decision to hire "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight to write the script.
Now Villeneuve and producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman face the next big hurdle - finding the right actor to wear Bond's tuxedo.
Amazon MGM Studios executives didn't shy away from talking about who they should invite to join Her Majesty's Secret Service as they presented their upcoming film lineup to theater owners Wednesday night at CinemaCon.
"I know you're all wondering when we'll announce who will play James Bond," said Courtenay Valenti, Head of Films at Amazon MGM Studios, "Don't get too excited. Know that we're doing this with the utmost care and respect. It's a lifelong dream for all of us to bring this next chapter to audiences, and it's a responsibility we don't take lightly."
She added: “What I can tell you is this: when you combine one of the most beloved franchises in history with a world-renowned filmmaking team, including the brilliant director Denis Villeneuve, the extraordinary producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, executive producer Tanya Lapointe and screenwriter Steven Knight, you are laying the foundation for something truly worthy of the Bond legacy. That film is coming, and when the time is right, we will have much more to share.”
Speculation has been rife, with actors ranging from Jacob Elordi to Callum Turner and Louis Partridge rumored to be taking on the role of Agent 007. Whoever takes the role will have a huge task.
Daniel Craig's five films, including "Skyfall" and "Casino Royale," were the commercial highlights of the series. He officially left the series after "No Time to Die," which premiered in 2021. /Telegraph/
