A 48-year-old man tragically lost his life at his workplace in the city of Shtime, on Tuesday evening.

The case was confirmed by the Kosovo Police spokesperson for the Ferizaj region, Kanun Veseli, who announced that the incident occurred at around 20:45 PM at a company operating in the industrial zone of Shtime.


According to him, the victim, a worker aged around 48, suffered injuries during the work process and was immediately taken to the Ferizaj Emergency Room. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, he was pronounced dead there.

"We inform you that on 15.04.2026, at around 20:45, we received information that in a company in the industrial area in Shtime, a person (worker) around 48 years old was injured while working. He was immediately taken to the Ferizaj Emergency Room, where the medical team confirmed his death," Veseli stated.

Relevant police units, including patrols and investigators from the Ferizaj police station, immediately arrived at the scene.

Investigators and forensic experts from the Regional Investigation Sector, the state prosecutor, and the Labor Inspectorate have also been notified, and they have begun taking the necessary investigative actions to fully clarify the circumstances of this case.

Due to the increasing number of workers losing their lives in the workplace, the Minister of Labor, Family and War Values ​​of the KLA, Andin Hoti, announced an extraordinary inspection campaign in the high-risk sector, especially in construction, a few days ago.

Hoti has decided to immediately launch an extraordinary national inspection campaign.

He said that any company that does not guarantee basic safety conditions will have its work immediately stopped, will be punished according to the law, and will not be allowed to continue working until it meets the standards.
