SPAK strikes at cocaine criminal group: Over 12 million euros and 89 vehicles seized, 11 arrest warrants issued

SPAK has officially reacted to the crackdown on an international cocaine trafficking criminal group, which is suspected of operating during 2019-2021 in Latin America, Belgium and the Netherlands.
According to the Special Prosecution Office, eight episodes of cocaine trafficking in large quantities have been documented, while the investigations were conducted by BKH investigators under the direction of special prosecutors, in cooperation with Eurojust, Europol and law enforcement agencies in France, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
At the request of SPAK, the GJKKO has imposed the security measure "arrest in prison" on 11 Albanian citizens. According to the announcement, Lulzim Pepaj, Florian Marku and Anton Kola were arrested today, while the State Police in cooperation with the BKH continue actions to locate other persons, some of whom are not in the territory of Albania.
Eight episodes of cocaine trafficking
SPAK lists eight suspected trafficking episodes, including large shipments originating from Latin American countries to ports in the Netherlands, mainly in Rotterdam, as well as cases of seizures in Amsterdam and on highways in the Netherlands.
The announcement also mentions the seizure of: 8.5 kg in Amsterdam (21.03.2020); 1,018 kg from Peru to Rotterdam (7-8 April 2020), with a sales value of over 1.3 million euros; other suspected shipments, including 2020 kg from Ecuador, 516 kg seized in Peru, 500 kg in Rotterdam, around 1600 kg (with 104 kg seized), as well as 1238,39 kg hidden in bananas and 531 kg hidden in raisins.
Preventive seizure: 232 assets, value 12 million euros
SPAK announces that with decision no. 273, dated 14.04.2026, the GJKKO has imposed preventive seizure on 232 movable and immovable assets, with an approximate value of 12 million euros, directly or indirectly owned by the persons under investigation.
The list of seized assets includes: assets/quotas of several commercial companies (including “P… GROUP”, “HEC A…I”, “B….V”, “Sh……i 2013”, “O….. Hotel”, “M….. N… A………”, “E…… AL”); 60 real estate properties (land, plot, hotel, parking lots, apartments) in Tirana, Kamëz, Lezhë, Shëngjin, Saranda and Himara; 89 vehicles of various types; 72 bank accounts of natural/legal persons and persons related to them.
SPAK announces that on April 15, 2026, the State Police and the Asset Administration Agency have initiated procedures for the blocking of assets in registration offices and second-tier banks.
