MP Lutfi Haziri from the Democratic League of Kosovo has reacted after media reports regarding a possible political agreement between the LDK and the Vetëvendosje Movement.

According to some reports, talks between Prime Minister Albin Kurti and LDK leader Lumir Abdixhiku would include not only the election of the president, but also the allocation of institutional positions, including the speaker of the Assembly.

These reports stated that in a possible LVV-LDK agreement, the position of Speaker of the Assembly would change, while a joint candidacy would be supported for president.

However, Haziri has rejected these claims, calling them untrue.

"LDK and President Abdixhiku are in talks to give the country a president. Media reports about changes in positions are absolutely untrue."

"LDK is a party of hope and trust and is continuously committed to functional and representative institutions. It has already been proven that one party and one leader are insufficient to achieve the political goals of the Republic," said Haziri.

First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, said that the issue of electing the country's new president depends on the will of the opposition parties.

"We will go to new elections if this is the will of the opposition, we have nothing to do," he told the media on April 15.

Konjufca said he would withdraw his candidacy for president if the opposition parties proposed a joint name.

"The moment the opposition comes up with a joint candidate, this would be the first thing I would do because it is much more important for Kosovo to have a president than for his name to be Glauk Konjufca," he said./Telegrafi
