Ermal Frashëri, a lecturer and expert based in the United States, commented on the show "Balkan Talks" on the participation of the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where she participated in the signing of the establishment of the "Peace Board" for Gaza.

Frashëri also focused on the gratitude expressed by Osmani to former US President Donald Trump for the national defense authorization act.

According to the expert, the inclusion of Kosovo in a federal act approved by the US Congress is an important development. He emphasized that this act creates clear predictability for Kosovo, causing the US administration to pay increased attention to the country.

"I found it a pleasant surprise that such attention to Kosovo would be reflected in a measure approved by Congress. For Congress to be so specific as to introduce predictability for Kosovo and a series of actions that draw the attention of the American administration to pay more attention to Kosovo is something that does not usually happen."

Finally, Kosovo manages to lobby Congress strongly enough to include such predictability in a federal act.

On the other hand, I think President Osmani did well to thank Trump, that even though this is an act of Congress, she still thanked Trump's leadership, it is the right action. I think this will give a personal dimension and a point of reference that Kosovo will have in relation to the State Department.

"I have the impression that in any future talks, the attention of the State Department will be conditioned by the provision made in the defense act. It is a type of intervention that does not happen often. Kosovo has managed to translate this attention into legislation," said Ermal Frashëri./Euronews Albania
