The leader of the second-placed party in the December 28 elections, Bedri Hamza, has said that he has no problem meeting with the leader of the first party, the Vetëvendosje Movement, for a political agreement.

However, he said that the responsibility lies with Albin Kurti to constitute the Assembly and form the government.

"It has 57 seats in the Assembly, of course it forms a coalition with the deputies of the non-majority communities, who are not Serbs, but of other communities, and it has a sufficient number to form the government. It has the responsibility to form the government, to constitute the Assembly. It has the responsibility to constitute the Assembly without delay, all the positions of the Assembly, both the speaker and the deputy speakers. We vote for the deputy speakers, because we also have the deputy speaker from the PDK. For all other positions, the responsibility is theirs", Hamza said, among other things, in the first exclusive interview after the December elections.

Asked if the PDK will vote for the Speaker of the Assembly, Hamza said: "Why should we vote? They have it, they have enough. And normally, without a political agreement, we don't vote."

Furthermore, the PDK leader said that they are not waiting for any party to reach an agreement, while emphasizing that his party has always been cooperative on topics in the interest of the country, which he said will continue to be so in the future.

"We never avoid conversations. It doesn't mean we agree, but we never avoid conversations and meetings. It depends on the topic and the manner of the invitation. Because even when you invite, you have to invite well and well. This means that if you don't send the invitation well and clearly, then whatever background or tendency it is, it doesn't work," Hamza declared on Klan Kosova's Rubikon.

Speaking about the position of President, which should be elected in about a month and a half, he expressed his willingness to talk to Kurti about this issue, but said that again the responsibility falls on the first party.

Among other things, he recalled past cases of how presidents have been elected.

"There is nothing bad to say, but the responsibility for getting the votes belongs to the first party. The first time, President Rugova gave the post of prime minister, which was held by Mr. Rexhepi, and he himself was president. The second time, he gave it to Mr. Haradinaj, and he himself was president. The third time, Mr. Sejdiu was elected with the support of the PDK, and Mr. Thaçi was the prime minister. However, the PDK had the majority, but it took the prime minister and elected the president by political agreement."

"In the next step, Mr. Pacolli was also elected president, and PDK was the first party. Mr. Thaçi held the post of prime minister, and Pacolli was elected president. Ms. Jahjaga was elected at a time when PDK had the majority," Hamza declared.

He added that the party that forms the government always has the greatest responsibility for finding the formula for how to elect the president.
