Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has described the recognition by the Bahamas as a historic moment for the country. She emphasized that this recognition came after a long period of work and great commitment by the Presidency.
"This is an extraordinary historical moment for the achievements of our country. We are extremely happy that, after a long work and great and intensive commitment of the presidency, today we have signed the recognition agreement together with Prime Minister Davis and also the agreement to establish diplomatic relations," declared President Osmani.
She further added that during the meetings, ways to deepen cooperation between the two countries in various fields were discussed:
"We also had an extraordinary meeting, where we discussed how we can deepen our relations in various areas of bilateral interest. There is truly great potential for our countries to come even closer and support each other even more. We are very grateful for the commitment of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bahamas, whom we also met in New York. Through continuous cooperation and daily communication, we have managed to organize this visit, which resulted in the signing of important agreements and will bring many other benefits to our relations," said Osmani.
The President further thanked the people of the Bahamas, while emphasizing that she will soon welcome Prime Minister Davis to Kosovo.
"I thank once again the state and people of the Bahamas, a wonderful people. Very soon we will welcome Prime Minister Davis to our Republic. The good news for our country will not stop," Osmani declared.
