A large crowd gathered Monday afternoon in Washington Square Park in Manhattan, where a massive snowball fight got out of control and nearly descended into chaos.
According to authorities, hundreds of people threw snowballs at each other, passing cars and even police officers.
Some participants were also seen throwing snow at a police vehicle, while officers were forced to leave the area.

A policeman warned the crowd, while through a megaphone they were asked not to hit the cars.
Authorities said no injuries were reported.
However, the police union condemned the incident as an unacceptable attack on officers. It demanded the identification and arrest of those involved in the scuffle. /Telegrafi/
