Polish media reported Friday that soccer star Robert Lewandowski is facing fraud charges after he is believed to have bought two master's degrees at the private University of Lodz.

According to the Onet news agency, the Barcelona striker's name appears on an extensive list linked to a police investigation into degree trafficking, and it is even suspected that he graduated twice from the private University of Lodz, although he never appeared for given the exams.

At the center of this controversy is a former sports director named Zbigniew D., but the person who cast doubt on the captain of the Polish national team was a former teacher, who confirmed that the player had not appeared for the exam of his subject.

"Robert Lewandowski acquired his degree from a private university in Lodz. I write it with full responsibility because he "passed" two exams for me. I discovered all this during the session as a witness in this disgusting case", reported Barbara Mrozinska in a publication in X, on July 7.

In addition to these two degrees now in doubt, Lewandowski's academic career also includes a bachelor's and master's degree in physical education obtained at the University of Warsaw, after taking 13 years to complete them.

In fact, the long time was justified by the reconciliation between the beginning of his professional activity and his academic career, something that reinforces the suspicions of the investigation, which question how the player had time to work on two masters, when he already had another one without performed.

The Polish press also points out that the player's lawyers have shown full availability to resolve the case. /Telegraph/
