Former Mayor Eric Adams receives Albanian citizenship, registers as a resident of Tirana

Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams is officially a resident of Administrative Unit No. 2 in Tirana.
A few days ago, Adams obtained Albanian citizenship.
The Head of Unit No. 2, Florian Pullazi, who shared photos on his social network Facebook, described Adams as "the unit's newest resident," welcoming him to the premises of the local institution.
“Eric Adams, the newest resident of unit no. 2 in Tirana!
It was with pleasure that I welcomed today, in the premises of Administrative Unit No. 2 in Tirana, the former mayor of New York and renowned former senator, Eric Adams.
Eric Adams is a great friend of Albanians – today, an Albanian with a passport – in addition to being a politician known for his focus on public safety issues, as a former captain of the New York Police Department.
As he himself says, obtaining Albanian citizenship is also a reflection of the long and deep connection between New York City and the Albanian community in the US.
"It's a pleasure that, from today, we have him as a resident of unit no. 2 in the capital," he writes.
