One year and six months in prison for MP Egzon Azemi and VV spokesperson Arlind Manjhuka

Vetëvendosje MP Egzon Azemi and VV Movement spokesperson Arlind Manjhuka were found guilty of inciting discord and intolerance, each being sentenced separately to one year and six months in prison.
Qerim Elshani and Edi Zenelaj were found guilty of the criminal offense of "intimidation", and were each sentenced separately to six months in prison.
The verdict was announced by the panel composed of: Kushtrim Shyti, president of the panel, and members Violeta Namani and Avi Syla.
The parties have the right to appeal within 30 days from the date of receipt of the written judgment, reports "Oath for Justice".
Edi Zenelaj was present at the announcement, as well as the defense attorneys: attorney Teutë Xhema, for Egzon Azemi, and attorney Valentina Shabani, for Arlind Manjhuka.
Meanwhile, the defendants Egzon Azemi, Arlind Manxhuka and Qerim Elshani, as well as the special prosecutor, Fikrije Fejzullahu, were absent.
Otherwise, the Basic Court in Pristina, on March 7, 2025, had announced a verdict in which it had acquitted Arlind Manxhuka, while Egzon Azemi, Qerim Elshani and Edi Zenelaj had been sentenced to 6 months in prison each. However, the Court of Appeal on October 27, 2025, sent the case back for a retrial.
Otherwise, the Special Prosecution Office of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK), on November 8, 2023, filed an indictment against Arlind Manjhuka, Egzon Azemi, Qerim Elshani and Edi Zenelaj, who are accused of having committed the criminal offense of "Threat" and "Inciting discord and intolerance".
According to the indictment provided by "Oath for Justice", Manjhuka and Azemi are charged with the criminal offense of "Inciting Discord and Impatience", while Elshani and Zenalaj are accused of "Threats". The same are accused of having intentionally threatened the injured parties, the judge of the Basic Court in Pristina - Special Department Mentor Bajraktari and the special prosecutor Afrim Shefkiu.
In the indictment it is stated that the defendants Manzhuka and Azemi on December 28, 2022, misusing their official position through the social network "Facebook", intentionally spread and incited hatred and impatience towards the injured Bajraktari and Shefkiu, who as official persons on December 28, 2022, they had made a decision to change the measure of detention against the suspect Dejan Pantiq.
"The defendant Arlind shared the post with the words: "This verdict is an act of treason", then continued with other inciting posts "Who does this Court work for!?, and similar, while the defendant Egzon posted the article with the words: "After the assassination attempt he committed in Paris, against Esat Pash Toptani, among other things, Avniu said", where the suspect attached a photo to this article with the caption: "Traitors deserve the bullet"", the indictment states.
Further, according to the accusatory act, with these actions the same have undertaken dangerous, inciting and lynching actions with tendencies to influence or hinder the exercise of the injured party's function, which may disrupt public order and damage their image and personal integrity .
Hereby, each separately, they are charged with the criminal offense: "Inciting discord and intolerance" from article 141, paragraph 2 related to paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, according to the indictment of the defendants Elshani and Zenelaj, immediately after the posts of the above-mentioned defendants in the manner described in the first provision, instigated by the same, the defendants intentionally threatened the injured Afrim Shefkiu and Mentor Bajraktari.
"Defendant Qerim commented on defendant Egzon Azemi's post with the words: "He's not a feather, he's a boom in the mouth, he's a lover, leave him alone so that not even a piece of his body can enter our land!", while defendant Zenelaj took action by placing graffiti on the walls with the inscription "Pillar of Shame Judge Mentor Bajraktari and Prosecutor Afrim Shefkiu", in which case they caused the injured parties a feeling of anxiety, fear and uncertainty about life," the indictment states.
With this, each of them is being accused of having committed the criminal offense of intimidation under Article 181, paragraph 3, in conjunction with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code. /Oath of Justice/
