The Kosovo Energy Corporation has announced that it is in full operational readiness, putting all available production capacities into operation to guarantee a stable supply of electricity to citizens, in conditions of falling temperatures and increasing consumption.

According to KEK's official announcement, as of December 19, 2025, the corporation has increased its operational commitment to the maximum level, currently operating with five generating units.

As a result of this commitment, daily electricity production is reaching around 20,640 MWh, significantly contributing to the stability of supply and the sustainability of the electricity system of the Republic of Kosovo.

KEK explains that under normal operating conditions, it usually operates with four generating units, while one unit is kept as a hot reserve for technical needs and periodic maintenance.

However, despite the advanced age of the facilities, thanks to the continuous engagement of the technical staff and the dedication of the management, parallel operation with five units has been made possible, with the exception of two brief technical interventions in one of the units.

KEK emphasizes that the corporation remains committed to keeping as much production capacity in operation as possible, always respecting the standards of technical safety and operational stability.

"Our main goal is to guarantee a sustainable production of electricity and the energy security of citizens, especially in periods of increased demand," says the KEK announcement. /Telegraph/
