A serious event shocked public opinion yesterday, after journalist Elton Tozaj was brutally raped on the Tirana-Durres highway.
Tozaj himself reacted through a post on social media, where he published a photo in which he appears with visible signs of violence on his face, after the blows he received. The images have caused numerous reactions, while concern has increased after the family was informed about his health condition.
According to family members, the journalist is currently in serious condition and is receiving intensive medical treatment. The situation is considered delicate, as Tozaj is fighting to keep his eyesight, which makes this event even more alarming.

In a public statement, the journalist's family has provided details about the attack, emphasizing that the incident occurred at around 19:30 PM on the Tirana-Durres highway and that the perpetrators of the violence have already been identified. What has sparked the most reactions is the family's request that a well-known showbiz personality, who according to them frequents the people involved in the incident, publicly distance himself and clarify his relationship with a girl mentioned in the context of the incident in the Ura–Patok–Kodra e Diellit area.
"Elton is fighting to keep his sight and we hope he will soon be back with us like before," the family's touching message reads.
