Forbes Magazine included an Albanian entrepreneur on the list of the world's richest people for the first time.

He is Samir Mane, the founder and president of Balfin Group, who is ranked 2356th with a fortune of $1.4 billion.

“Elsewhere in Europe, Albania has its first billionaire this year, with new entrant Samir Mane, who has built an estimated fortune of $1.4 billion from investments in shopping malls, electronics stores and luxury real estate across the Balkans.”

This is the largest wealth ever certified for an Albanian entrepreneur by the prestigious Forbes magazine, which has made it a tradition to publish the list of the richest people in the world since 1987.

With an activity launched in 1993, Mane later founded the Balfin group, transforming it into one of the largest investment groups in the region, which has now also chosen to invest in Austria, the United States of America, and Canada.

Forbes writes that there are now more than 3 billionaires worldwide and that they are richer than ever, with a combined wealth of $16.1 trillion.

Only three countries account for more than 50% of all billionaires.

Almost a third of this year's list comes from the United States, which ranks with 813 billionaires.

China again holds second place with 450 billionaires and India in third place with 205 billionaires.

In Europe, Germany holds first place with 171 billionaires.
