UEFA responds to Barcelona after complaints about Pubill's handball

The European Football Association (UEFA) has rejected Barcelona's appeal against the refereeing of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid, in which the Catalan club lost 2-0. The decision was made today (Tuesday), the day of the return leg.
Barcelona were unhappy with the referee's decision in the second half of the first leg. With Atletico leading 1-0, visiting goalkeeper Juan Musso passed the ball to teammate Marco Pubill, who stopped it with his hand and then fired it again from the five-yard line.
Barcelona players protested loudly, demanding a penalty and a red card (second yellow) for Pubill, but the referee did not intervene.
Coach Hansi Flick said in a press conference after the match that he could not believe what had happened, while some players also called it a clear penalty and Barcelona's injury in this case.
Due to the above situation, Barcelona sent an official complaint to UEFA and received a response today.
"Barcelona has filed an objection to the referee's decision in the first leg. On 13 April, the UEFA Disciplinary Committee determined that there was no irregularity," UEFA's response said.
Even if irregularities were determined, UEFA would not take any action, nor would the result and events of the first leg be changed. /Telegraph/
