The Municipality of Mitrovica, namely the Health Directorate, has operationalized the Geriatric Service, providing home healthcare for citizens over the age of 65.

This service comes within the framework of improving primary health services and aims to facilitate the elderly's access to medical treatment, without the need for frequent visits to health institutions.

According to the announcement, the beneficiaries of this service are all citizens over 65 years of age who need home care, especially those suffering from chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, cardiac problems, osteoporosis and mobility difficulties, as well as neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and dementia.

The Geriatric Service includes a wide range of treatments, including the provision of intravenous therapy and infusions prescribed by specialist physicians, intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, urinary catheterization, as well as the cleaning and treatment of wounds and decubitus ulcers as needed.

This service is offered during working days, from Monday to Friday, between 07:00 and 15:00, while citizens can contact the telephone number to benefit from this health support.

With this initiative, the Municipality of Mitrovica aims to increase the quality of life for the elderly and provide closer and more continuous care for this category of citizens. /Telegrafi/
