The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that tonight, on January 5, the process of counting ballots for conditional voting and voting by persons with special needs for the early elections of the Assembly of Kosovo, held on December 28, 2025, has begun at the Counting and Results Center (CRC).

According to preliminary data, out of 57 conditional polling stations in 38 municipalities in the country, over 9,900 voters have been registered to vote conditionally. Meanwhile, the number of voters registered in the voting program for people with special needs was 2,860.


In parallel, the CNR is evaluating and verifying the packages with ballots withdrawn on January 2 from mailboxes in Prague, London, Paris, Zagreb, Stockholm, Istanbul, New York, Canberra and Copenhagen.

Of these, 8,180 packages of ballots were withdrawn, which were brought to Kosovo during the day and will undergo verification procedures before counting.

The CEC has also concluded the process of withdrawing ballot packages from mailboxes outside Kosovo. On January 5, a total of 11,867 ballot packages were withdrawn from 13 foreign countries and Pristina, which, once they arrive in Kosovo, will be processed and verified before being counted.

CEC spokesperson, Valmir Elezi, emphasized that all packages will be handled according to regular procedures to guarantee the integrity of the voting process.
