Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most talented and successful players in football history.

But, he is not the only child in the family who knows how to play very well with the ball, as his brother Hugo Aviero was also very good when he was young.

He (Hugo) was described as a rare talent in street football.

Childhood friend Joel Santos told The Sun: "I didn't know Hugo then, but everyone who knew him before me told me he was a better footballer than Ronaldo."

However, his talent failed to blossom further, as he had many problems with alcohol and drugs.

Tragically, Cristiano and Hugo's father, Jose Dinis Aveiro, had passed away in 2005 at the age of 51 after a long battle with alcohol.

For Ronaldo, this was written in his mind to never follow that path and never consume alcohol.

His mother, Dolores, said: "Cristiano has seen what drugs and alcohol can do to people, so that influenced him to become who he is today."

Dinis had been a heavy drinker throughout his life, until his death devastated Ronaldo. It was revealed that Cristiano had paid for his treatment, but his father had refused.

Unfortunately, Hugo followed his father's path, becoming an alcoholic and drug addict.

Ronaldo is ten years younger, but has always been very close to his brother - and the 35-year-old star had done everything to help him.

It was after the 2014 Champions League final that Ronaldo begged his brother to let him help him.

Cristiano was man of the match for Real Madrid in their 4-1 win over Atletico in the final and at the end of the match, he went to hug a fan - his older brother.

Their emotional embrace was also seen on camera - but in that moment a great promise was made.

Ronaldo had told his brother that if he won the Champions League that year, he would have to give up alcohol.

Both had agreed to that deal and CR7 had managed to keep his promise admirably.

However, Ronaldo was determined that his brother did not go on that journey alone and helped him through to full rehabilitation. /Telegrafi/
