Croatian and Real Madrid football legend Luka Modric said goodbye to winning a potential World Cup trophy tonight and was greeted with a standing ovation.
In his final appearance at the World Cup, his fourth overall, Modric bid farewell in style and reached the semi-finals.
He has one more match to play, the one for third place on Saturday.
But tonight, the famous Croatian bid his final farewell to the eventual world champion trophy with a 3-0 loss to Argentina.
Selector Zlatko Dalic brought him off late in the game, for Modric to receive a well-deserved ovation.
