Mickoski: We are considering reducing the excise tax and margin price for petroleum products

If the trend of increasing the price of derivatives on the stock exchange continues, the Prime Minister says that the next step will be to reduce the price of excise duty and margin. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski emphasizes that the Government is monitoring the situation and that they will act in a timely manner based on the need. While he said the same thing about the increase in the prices of food products, for which he stated that market inspectors are on the ground and are monitoring the situation.
"It is understood that the next step would be that after these two weeks, if the increase in the stock market continues, the reduction of excise duty will follow and normally the reduction of the margin, namely the price of storage, transportation costs and so on... Thirty teams of the Market Inspectorate are in the field, visiting different types of markets, looking at the costs and based on those costs we will bring strategies and policies. Where we see actions by non-traders, we as the Government will act", said Mickoski.
The Prime Minister once again mentioned that our country has the lowest price of petroleum products and that citizens from countries in the region are coming to us to buy petroleum.
He emphasized that the Government's measure to reduce VAT from 18 to 10% has been in effect for the past two weeks. The new prices of fuels by the Regulatory Commission will be set on Monday.
