Lizzo: I lost my virginity in my 30s after winning a Grammy award

Lizzo has revealed that she didn't have sex for the first time until she was in her thirties, fulfilling a promise she made to herself two decades ago. The singer, who is now 37, admitted that she had decided not to sleep with anyone until she won the prestigious Grammy music award.
"When I was younger, I promised myself I wouldn't sleep with anyone until I won a Grammy," she said on the "Friends Keep Secrets" podcast, surprising hosts Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco.
Lizzo won her first Grammy Awards in 2020, when she took home three trophies: for best pop solo performance for the song "Truth Hurts," for best urban contemporary album for "Cuz I Love You," and for best traditional R&B performance for the song "Jerome."

Although he did not fulfill this promise that same night after the awards ceremony, it did happen a short time later.
Before that moment came, the singer had been hiding the truth for a long time. "I lied about this for a long time," she admitted. "I feel like a stone has been lifted from my heart."
She also recalled an awkward moment with her friends while studying at the University of Houston. "One night, we were just girls and someone asked me, 'Wait, Lizzo, are you a virgin?' I remember immediately saying, 'No!' It was very awkward. I added, 'I really like boys...' and that story haunted me for a while," she said.

Lizzo describes herself as a "late bloomer," revealing that she didn't have her first kiss until she was 21. She explained that the reason was religious. "As teenagers in my church, we all vowed not to do anything before marriage. Then I just started to get really scared. Plus, no one wanted to kiss me," she said.
When it finally happened, the experience, she said, was "horrific."
"I was actually really upset about it," she said. "It was New Year's Eve and he kind of forced that kiss on me. I got angry and thought, 'My first kiss is ruined.' It was really disappointing."

The singer has been in a relationship with comedian Myke Wright since 2021. They met in 2016, when they co-hosted the music show "Wonderland" on MTV, but then, according to her, nothing happened between them.
"I have a rule not to mix with men I work with... that's forbidden," she explained. /Telegraph/
