Today, on November 9, the second round of local elections (runoff) was held in 18 municipalities in Kosovo.
The run-off was held in 18 municipalities in the country, including: Gjakova, Gjilan, Dragash, Kaçanik, Klina, Fushë Kosova, South Mitrovica, Obiliq, Rahovec, Peja, Prishtina, Prizren, Suhareka, Viti, Vushtrri, Junik, Mamushë and Kllokot.
In these municipalities, citizens had the opportunity to choose between the two most voted candidates from the first round of local elections.

Gani Haziri, the owner of the bar where the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, was going to go today, has declared that he will close it because of PDK supporters.
In a statement to the media, Haziri said that he decided to close the bar to prevent the situation between the two party sympathizers from escalating, Klankosova.tv reports.
"Neither party has asked for the space to be vacated, but I saw that the situation was getting out of control, lest it become something bigger. I found out from my workers, they told me that Albin Kurti was coming. But I saw that the situation was escalating, and for that reason I closed the bar," he said.
Furthermore, he said that neither PDK nor VV supporters protested to leave his bar.
The bar where Kurti would go today is located in the "Tavnik" neighborhood of South Mitrovica.

The national coordinator for elections, prosecutor Laura Pula, said that so far there have been no major incidents reported.
Pula said that this is the case in Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje where two people have been detained in connection with the criminal offense of accepting and giving bribes.
"The persons have been detained and this offense can be punished with 1 to 5 years of imprisonment and the investigations against them will continue. Since we are in the information gathering phase, I would not go into details," Pula said in a direct line to RTV Dukagjini.
She added that another case has been identified in Peja, related to the criminal offense of "violation of the secrecy of voting".

An incident between the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, and an activist carrying the emblem of the Democratic League of Kosovo outside the fences of the "Faik Konica" school has sparked reactions.
While Sveçla was crossing the square, near the fences of the "Faik Konica" school, she stopped an LDK activist, who was carrying the party's emblem, telling him that he was violating the election rules. The Office of the Chief State Prosecutor announces that for the second round of mayoral elections in the Republic of Kosovo, which are being held today, the State Prosecutor has made all necessary preparations to protect the free vote of citizens, guaranteeing the integrity of the electoral process.
Around 80 state prosecutors and prosecutorial system officials have been engaged in these elections, who will remain on duty throughout the territory of the Republic of Kosovo until the end of the electoral process, with the aim of processing any irregularities that may occur.
The State Prosecutor invites the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, all political subjects, various institutions or organizations, to report to the respective prosecutors any case, for which they have doubts that the vote is being misused or manipulated in any way and by whomever .
09/11/2025 06:45- Police with operational plan to guarantee general security during the run-off
The Kosovo Police, in order to provide security and ensure the smooth running of the mayoral election process, has drafted a police operational order, where the necessary police planning has been made regarding the elections, in terms of security.
The operational planning envisaged the implementation and realization of the police operation during the run-off process, the engagement and guarantee of security, the transport under KP escort and security of sensitive material until the end of the process.
The Kosovo Police has taken additional measures by appointing Police coordinators with the CEC and other institutions engaged in this process, as well as drafting a guide for police officers regarding their legal duties and responsibilities during the run-off.
The Kosovo Police simultaneously calls on all leaders of electoral entities and citizens to notify the competent institutions and the Kosovo Police of any information or issue related to security, through the fixed and mobile line: 192 or at the email address info@kosovopolice.com as well as at the nearest police stations, so that immediate legal measures can be taken.
