Market research company TD Cowen has revealed the total cost of production for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The manufacturing price of the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max model includes components, product assembly and packaging, Telegraph reports.

In its analysis, TD Cowen points out that the total production cost of the 256GB iPhone 16 Pro Max model is only $485, which is almost a third of the retail price.

By comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro Max costs $453 to make, which is $32 (or 7%) less than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

The report shows that the cameras and display are the most expensive components of the phone. The rear camera system alone accounts for 16 percent of the phone's total manufacturing cost.

Interestingly, the more powerful A18 Pro chip, which is used by this year's most powerful iPhone, costs only five dollars more than the A17 Pro used by the previous iPhone.

Memory and storage are also more expensive at five dollars each. The upgraded battery, on the other hand, costs the same: $15.

Apple retails the iPhone 16 Pro Max for $1,199 (256GB model). That means all other aspects (research and development, marketing, software distribution, etc.) cost $714. /Telegraph/
