Get to know the profile of the Special Intervention Unit - FIT in the Kosovo Police, who protested today in front of the Government

The Special Intervention Unit of the Kosovo Police, known as FIT, was established in 2007, and it performs security operations in special cases and resolves situations that other police units cannot deal with.
This unit engages in cases where the fulfillment of official duties to protect life and property poses a very high risk for order and security in general and for police officers.
This unit has participated in numerous operations since its establishment.
Their last operation was the one in Banjska in the Municipality of Zveçan, after the terrorist attack by a group of Serbs.
FIT members were called to take control of the area due to their superior preparations.
Another recent FIT operation is that of arrests and controls in the north, after the attack in Banjska.
The one that caused the biggest stir was the arrest of Millun Millenkovic, known as "Llune".
The FIT unit also participated in the arrest of the former head of the so-called Office for Kosovo in the Government of Serbia, Marko Gjurić, in 2018, when he was banned from entering Kosovo and did not comply.
The Special Intervention Unit is rarely seen in public, and even in rare public outings they are seen in disguise.
Otherwise, today's protest of this unit before the Government of Kosovo came after, as they said for years, they are dissatisfied with the conditions.
They demanded that the dangerousness at work be set at 50 percent of the basic salary.
Last week, the Government of Kosovo had proposed the additions for the dangerousness payments for the members of the Kosovo Police.
According to the government proposal, the allowances for the elite units, the Special Intervention Unit, the Rapid Intervention Unit and the Close Protection Unit are from 150 euros in addition to the basic salary, 120 for the K9 operative units and the Explosives and Demining Unit.
The members of the border patrols will benefit from 100 euros per month, while the members of the investigation will receive an additional 75 euros per month.
The reaction teams and patrols that make up the largest number of Police will receive an additional 60 euros, while the Police who are committed to the security of facilities and those in operations management will be allocated 50 and 45 euros of extra risk, respectively. /Telegraph/
