An Arkansas athlete wore 55 T-shirts and ran a half marathon to break a Guinness World Record and celebrate her weight loss journey.

Meredith Smith ran the Fort Smith Half Marathon while wearing 55 T-shirts, and Guinness World Records has now confirmed that she has earned the title for most T-shirts worn during a half marathon (female).

Smith finished with a time under 3 hours and 30 minutes.

"Breaking a running record was particularly special for me, as I wouldn't have thought it possible when I started running in 2013 as a way to lose weight," Smith told Guinness World Records.

"Trying to set this record by adding weight back to my body through T-shirts was like going back into my shoes to physically see how far I had come," she added. /Telegraph/
