The Mayor of Prizeren, Shaqir Totaj, says that there is no information and transparency about what is being worked on on the Prizren-Tetovo road.
This road cannot be built without cooperation between the two governments! I don't know how much cooperation there is, I don't know how many agreements have been signed, said Totaj, during today's meeting of the Assembly of the Union of Albanian Municipalities organized in Tetovo.
Totaj accused the Kosovo government of a lack of transparency in this project.
"There are works being carried out in Kosovo. We are facing a lack of transparency and a lack of accurate information about what is being worked on, in what direction it is being worked on, and a lot of other information that should be public, which we do not have. But the project as such, the idea for such a project should definitely be welcomed and we should believe that it will be realized," added Totaj.
The Mayor of Tetova said that it is important because, within the union, we have many joint projects, which makes cooperation between municipalities or local governments essential in terms of increasing communication between Albanians throughout the Balkan region.
"In Tetovo, once again, the heads of Albanian municipalities throughout the Balkan region and even beyond, because part of this union are also the Albanians of the Arbëresh of Italy. It is important because, within the framework of the union, we have many joint projects, with which the cooperation of municipalities or between local governments becomes essential in terms of increasing communication between Albanians throughout the Balkan region, because political borders divide us, but cooperation between Albanian municipalities is uniting us", declared Bilall Kasami, Mayor of Tetovo.
