The Kosovo Assembly has 22 days left to elect the country's new president.

On this issue, today the leaders of political parties will resume the series of meetings for this purpose.


The leader of Vetëvendosje, Albin Kurti, is expected to meet today at around 11:00 with the leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku. As KosovaPress learns, the meeting will be held at the premises of the Kosovo Parliament.

LDK Vice President Lutfi Haziri has confirmed that Kurti and Abdixhiku will meet on Monday.

While the institutional crisis continues, the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, took over the duties of president from Vjosa Osmani on Saturday.

According to a decision by the Constitutional Court, the deputies of the Kosovo Assembly have until April 28 to elect the country's new president.

The Vetëvendosje Movement won over 51 percent of the vote in the last elections on December 28. /KP/
