Real Madrid and Turkey's young star, Arda Guler, has spoken ahead of the important match against Kosovo in the playoff final, emphasizing that his national team's main objective remains qualifying for the World Cup.
The Turkish midfielder made it clear that for his team there is no alternative but success on this journey.
"Our only and main objective is to qualify for the World Cup. We hope to make our fans happy," Guler initially said.
He also recalled how special this competition is for his country, mentioning the fact that Turkey has not been part of a World Cup since 2002.
"I wasn't even born when we last participated in the World Cup, but I know how important the World Cup is for our country."
After the disappointment at the European Championship, Guler showed that the team's motivation has increased even more, with the sole focus on returning to the biggest stage of world football.
"After we were eliminated from the European Championship, our motive was one and only: to qualify for the World Cup. It is our dream," declared the Real Madrid star.
