The municipality of Malisheva is facing a serious situation as a result of heavy rainfall, which has caused flooding and significant damage in several areas of the territory.

As a result of the situation, the Mayor of the Municipality, Ekrem Kastrati, is on the ground together with emergency teams, firefighters and the Kosovo Police, monitoring the situation and coordinating actions to protect the lives of citizens.


"Since midnight, I have been on the ground together with emergency rescue teams, municipal structures, firefighters and the Kosovo Police, closely monitoring the situation and coordinating actions to protect the lives of citizens and minimize damage," said Kastrati.

He announced that the floods have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, roads, private properties, agricultural land and various buildings, making the livelihoods of many families difficult.

"Unfortunately, the floods have caused great damage, and for this I express my deepest regret and full solidarity with all affected citizens," Kastrati added.

The President also thanked the emergency teams, firefighters, Kosovo Police and volunteers for their dedication.

"I want to thank all the teams, who tirelessly, in difficult conditions and with high professionalism, are working non-stop to manage the situation and provide assistance where needed," he said.

He appealed to citizens to show maximum caution, avoid endangered areas and respect the instructions of responsible institutions.

"The municipality of Malisheva will continue to be on full alert until the situation stabilizes and then we will be maximally committed to assessing the damages and supporting the affected families," concluded Kastrati. /Telegrafi/
