North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's daughter Kim Yu-ae has driven a tank during a military exercise supervised by her father, Kim Jong-un, as their latest public appearance together has fueled speculation she could be groomed as his successor.

According to the North Korean state news agency (KCNA), Kim supervised an offensive tactical drill involving tank and infantry units, calling for strengthening preparations for war.

Experts point out that she likely drove the tank at low speed and on flat terrain, adding that modern tanks are not too complicated to operate in such conditions.

Kim Yu-ae, believed to be around 13 years old, has increasingly appeared in public with her father since late 2022, participating in various military and state activities.

According to assessments by South Korean intelligence services, there is a possibility that Kim Jong-un is grooming her as a successor, although some analysts remain skeptical due to her age and the country's traditional male power structure.

The drills come at a time of heightened tensions as North Korea reacts to joint US and South Korean military exercises, which it sees as preparations for invasion. /Telegraph/
