Iran-Iraq border crossing closed after deadly attack

Iraq has closed a border crossing with Iran after airstrikes killed an Iraqi citizen on the Iranian side.
Shalamcheh is a vital supply route for Iraq's food imports from Iran, and any prolonged disruption could quickly affect supplies to local markets.
Five Iraqi citizens were seriously injured in the airstrikes, which hit a passenger waiting area on the Iranian side of the border crossing.
Officials said they saw drones hovering overhead moments before the explosions.
Iraqi border authorities said they had been informed by Iranian officials that truck and passenger movement would resume in the coming hours, once work on the transit and passport systems was completed.
Separately, one person was killed by shrapnel after US and Israeli airstrikes targeted a site near Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency.
The agency, citing confirmation from Iranian authorities, said in a statement that there was "no increase in radiation levels" after the attack. /Telegraph/
