General Motors has temporarily suspended sales of the 2025 and 2026 Chevrolet Corvette C8 models after discovering a problem with the system that notifies the driver when the rear turn signals are not working.

According to reports, over 3,300 vehicles are affected by this defect, which is related to a system that does not warn the driver if the rear turn signal light fails.

This is considered a serious safety hazard, as it violates US federal standards for vehicle signaling.

The problem is thought to be software-related and could be resolved through an over-the-air update for newer models, while owners of 2025 cars will have to take it to a service center for intervention.

Authorities like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration require vehicles to notify the driver in the event of a malfunction in the turn signals, which makes this problem particularly sensitive for the manufacturer.

Meanwhile, Hyundai has taken similar action, banning sales of some variants of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade model, following a tragic incident in the US. /Telegraph/
