Considered by many to be the most beautiful soccer player in the world, Ana Maria Markovic, from Croatia, has signed a contract with the American team Brooklyn, a club that competes in the new USL Gainbridge Super League, the elite level of American women's soccer.
The 25-year-old, who has been called "the most beautiful soccer player in the world" by many media outlets and fans, arrived in Brooklyn with her sister Kiki, who also signed a contract with the club.
"Signing with Brooklyn is an exciting step for me. I've played in some incredible places, but I already feel a special energy around this club and city. Sharing this experience with my sister makes it even more meaningful," Markovic said during the presentation.
Born in Split and raised in Switzerland, Ana Maria previously played for Swiss clubs FC Zurich and Grasshopper, as well as for Portuguese club Braga.
However, after signing for Braga in August 2024, she left the club in February of the following year.
After a brief stint at Damaiense near Lisbon, Markovic continued her career across the Atlantic.
She made her debut for Brooklyn in a match against the Tampa Bay Sun, where she came off the bench and replaced Catherine Zimmerman, contributing to her team's 2:1 victory.
She made 25 appearances for the Croatian national team and scored two goals, the last against Kosovo in June 2024. /Telegraph/
